Nica Guinn

Nica Guinn is passionate about improving communication in families and helping parents and children understand one another better. She believes that in order to raise happy, confident, caring children who will want to maintain loving relationships with their parents in the future, parents need to invest time, wisdom and care in their parenting while the children are young.

Nica is Coordinator for Chick Mormans Parent Talk System for the South Western US and a certified Parent Talk trainer, helping parents learn practical, useable verbal strategies for raising responsible, caring, confident children. She is also a facilitator of Pam Leo's Connection Parenting system, helping parents create a deeper, lasting bond and connection with their children. In addition to her work as a private Parent Coach, Nica also runs regular Parenting Support Groups for parents who have studied with her. Over the years, Nica has also worked with emotionally challenged children, and at an innovative pre-school. She is the mother of an adorable 3 year old son.

Nica comes to Parent Coaching from a varied background. She has a degree from Princeton University and a Diploma in Creative Arts Therapy from London. For many years, she worked in the performing arts both as a manager and as an actress and singer. Most recently she has worked with groups and individuals to help them explore and express more of who they truly are, using the creative and performing arts as vehicles for self-expression and self-discovery. She brings this creative background to her Parent Coaching, in encouraging the use of play, fun and self-expression among parents and children.
